Economic Hitmen

"Economic hitmen" are professional negotiators who work for transnational corporations or the CIA who deliberately corrupt Latin American politicians. One of these economic hitmen, John Perkins, an insider of what really goes on with US foreign policy openly admits that America's empire in Latin America, accomplished without military might, has instituted development projects which serve exclusively US interests. As a result, America has fostered extreme resentment among indigenous populations. John Perkins claims his job, which involves sex, money and power, is analogous to how the mafia works.
